MERCURY-CUBE LAMPS
The light of an ordinary mercury lamp is almost devoid of red rays, while incandescent lamp light has some excess. Therefore, lamps began to be used to improve the color of the light emitted by mercury lamps, in which, apart from the arc tube with mercury vapor, a tungsten filament is used, connected in series with it. The so obtained light source emits a luminous flux with a better spectral composition. However, the luminous efficacy of mercury-incandescent lamps is lower than that of mercury-vapor lamps. The service life of mercury-incandescent lamps is 8000 h. Rated data of mercury-incandescent lamps are given in the table.
Board. Rated data of mercury-incandescent lamps of the ML type
| Lamp type | Shank type | Luminous flux [lm] | Power
[W] |
Electricity
[A] |
| ML 100 | E 27 | 1 100 | 104 | 0,46 |
| ML 160 | E 27 | 31 50 | 165 | 0,76 |
| ML, 250 | E 40 | 5700 | 265 | 1,14 |
| ML 500 | E 40 | 13000 | 500 | 2,22 |
Mercury-incandescent light can also be obtained by mixing the luminous fluxes of two separate lamps - a regular mercury vapor lamp and an ordinary light bulb, placed in a common lampholder, the flux ratio may be varied as needed.
